Mike Restrepo
Concierge AV and automation for the buildings people care about.
Twenty years of combined leadership experience designing, deploying, and supporting Crestron control, lighting, networking, and AV systems across NJ, NY, and CT. Four divisions: residential, commercial, hospitality, and military/government.
What I work on
I run Restrepo Innovations out of Franklin Lakes, NJ. We design and install integrated control, lighting, audio, video, networking, and access systems across four divisions. None of them are secondary.
Residential
Luxury homes from full new builds through retrofits. Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, and Hudson counties in NJ, plus Alpine, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Short Hills, and Tenafly. Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Stamford, and Ridgefield in CT. Westchester, Manhattan, and the Hamptons for spillover work in NY.
Commercial
Boardrooms, training rooms, executive offices, and divisible meeting spaces. Conference automation that holds up under real use, not just on the install day.
Hospitality
Hotels, restaurants, and clubs that need guest-facing AV and back-of-house control that staff can actually run.
Military and government
Secure facility AV with documentation that auditors expect. We do not publish project details for this work.
Credentials
What I do not claim
We do not hold industry-association certification from CEDIA. We do not hold manufacturer certifications from Lutron or Ketra as a firm. We do design, install, and support Lutron and Ketra projects every day, but I will not list certifications we have not earned. Honesty on credentials is the entry fee.
How I think about the work
Listen to the customer
The first job is to find out what the client actually wants, not what is easiest to sell them. Most failed integrations I see in the field started with the integrator selling a kit instead of asking questions.
Documentation is the deliverable
The system has to outlive the install. Cable schedules, rack drawings, programming notes, and credentials get handed off so that anyone can service the work, not just us. That is what protects the client five years out.
Coordination across trades
Most of the value we add happens before drywall closes. We sit at the table with the architect, builder, electrician, lighting designer, and millworker so the low-voltage work is correct the first time.
Service after the install
The relationship does not end at sign-off. We support every system we install through care plans, remote diagnostics, and on-site service across NJ, NY, and CT.
