Residential
Luxury smart home design and integration for NJ, NY, and CT.
For luxury homeowners in Bergen, Essex, Morris, Westchester, Manhattan, the Hamptons, and Fairfield County who need a system that lasts twenty years, Restrepo Innovations is the Elite Pro Crestron dealer and HTA Luxury Certified integrator that won the Crestron Global Home Technology Award for its Maplewood, New Jersey residence in 2018 and 2019.
We design, deploy, install, configure, and support Crestron, Lutron, Ketra, Sonance, Origin Acoustics, Savant, Sonos, and the rest of the platforms a serious estate uses. We listen to the customer and we build what the customer actually needs, not what we want to sell. That is the only test that matters.

Twelve disciplines, one integrator, one phone number.
Luxury technology is not one product. It is twelve disciplines coordinated under one design and one service relationship. We carry the work from architectural drawings through twenty years of support.
Home theater and media rooms
Dedicated theaters and multipurpose media rooms with Dolby Atmos, projector or LED video wall, treated acoustics, motorized seating and shading.
Architectural and circadian lighting
Lutron HomeWorks, Ketra, and Crestron lighting design coordinated with the architect and lighting designer from day one.
Whole-home and outdoor audio
Sonance, Origin Acoustics, James Loudspeaker, and Sonos zones built around the room, not the catalog.
Enterprise-grade home networking
Ubiquiti UISP Pro Partner. Wired backbone, Wi-Fi 6 and 7 coverage, segmented IoT VLANs, monitored uptime.
Motorized shades and drapery
Lutron and Crestron shading, fabric and hardware selection, head-rail and pocket coordination with the GC.
Surveillance and access control
Camera coverage, NVR storage, access keypads, integration with the property management workflow.
Power management and UPS
Centralized clean power, surge, monitored UPS, generator and load coordination. The first layer of reliability.
Streaming and cable strategy
When to cut the cord, when to keep it, how to design the hybrid with one Crestron interface.
Service contracts and support
24/7 direct line to a Restrepo on-call engineer. Not a call center, not a third-party triage layer.
Project management
We act as the technology owner's rep across architects, builders, electricians, low-voltage trades, and other integrators.
Distributed video and matrix routing
Multi-room video, source pooling, signal routing built to be serviced in five years, not just installed today.
Forever Homes and aging-in-place
Multi-generational design: simple interfaces, voice control, circadian wellness, remote family monitoring.
Plan your project
Decision-stage guides for the homeowner doing real research.
Long-form, no fluff. Each guide covers the actual decisions, the real cost ranges, the mistakes we see most often, the brands that hold up, and what changes when the project sits in NJ, NY, or CT. Written for the homeowner who wants to walk into the first meeting already knowing what to ask.
Planning a luxury home theater
Dedicated theater versus media room, Dolby Atmos layout, projector versus LED wall, treated acoustics, seating, lighting control. Real cost tiers and what drives them.
Lighting design for a luxury home
Layered lighting, circadian tuning, Lutron HomeWorks, Ketra, Crestron. Where the architect, lighting designer, electrician, and integrator have to coordinate.
Whole-home audio that holds up
Sonance, Origin Acoustics, James Loudspeaker, Sonos. Zone planning, in-ceiling versus invisible, amplifier sizing, what to spend per zone and why.
Home networking for a smart home
Ubiquiti UISP Pro Partner. Wired backbone, Wi-Fi 6 and 7 coverage, VLAN segmentation for IoT, what fails when the network is treated as an afterthought.
Motorized shades and drapery
Lutron and Crestron shading, fabric selection, head-rail and pocket coordination with the GC. Cost per window, lead times, and the mistakes that get found at punch list.
Outdoor audio, video, and lighting
All-weather speakers, outdoor TVs and LED, landscape lighting integration, pool and patio scenes. What survives a Northeast winter and what does not.

Power Management
Power Is the First Layer of a Reliable System.
A modern estate carries a meaningful investment in technology and an even larger investment in everything plugged into it. Lighting drivers, shades, displays, network gear, and processors are all sensitive digital loads, and utility power is noisier than it has ever been. The industry is moving away from a UPS in every rack and behind every TV to one properly sized, centralized protection and conditioning bank, designed in from day one and run through the same Crestron platform that runs the rest of the system.
Power Management Overview
The full story across residential, commercial, hospitality, and government work.
Rack Power & Monitoring
Per-outlet visibility, scheduled startup sequencing, remote reboot, and alerts.
Surge & UPS Protection
Clean, conditioned, centralized power. Cleaner racks, less heat behind displays.
Generator & Load Coordination
Transfer logic, load shedding, EV charging coordination, solar and battery integration.
Streaming & Cable
Streaming and Cable, Designed for the Room.
Cord cutting is real now, but it is not the answer everywhere. We design the source layer so a luxury home gets clean streaming, a trading desk gets dead-stable cable feeds, a clubhouse gets the right hybrid, and a short-term rental resets cleanly between guests. All of it routed through the same Crestron interface.
Streaming & Cable Overview
When to cut the cord, when to keep it, and how to design the hybrid.
Short-Term Rental Streaming
Scheduled reset between guests, branded landing screen, multi-unit dashboards.
Trading Floor & Finance War Rooms
Multi-feed walls, instant channel change, monitored uptime, Crestron control.

Frequently asked
Honest answers to the questions homeowners ask first.
What is luxury smart home automation?
Luxury smart home automation is the unified control of lighting, climate, audio, video, shading, security, and networking from elegant interfaces, including touch panels, keypads, and mobile apps. Restrepo Innovations designs systems for reliability, intuitive control, and twenty years of serviceability across estates in NJ, NY, and CT.
Do you design and install home theaters?
Yes. We design dedicated theaters and multipurpose media rooms. The work covers acoustically treated rooms, projector or LED video wall display, Dolby Atmos immersive audio, motorized seating, blackout shading, and full Crestron control. Each theater is engineered for the room, not pulled from a template.
Do you handle multi-generational and aging-in-place technology?
Yes. Mike Restrepo focuses on Forever Homes work: simple, reliable interfaces that grandparents and grandchildren both use, circadian lighting for wellness, voice control, easy intercom, and remote family monitoring options for safety. The system grows with the household.
Which towns do you serve in NJ, NY, and CT?
In NJ: Alpine, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Short Hills, Tenafly, Demarest, Wyckoff, Ridgewood, and across Bergen, Essex, Morris, Somerset, and Monmouth counties. In NY: Westchester, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, the Hamptons, and the Hudson Valley. In CT: Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Belle Haven, Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Southport, Fairfield, Rowayton, Weston, Wilton, Easton, Ridgefield, and the Litchfield Hills towns of Washington, Roxbury, and Litchfield.
What lighting platforms do you work with?
We design, install, and program lighting using Lutron HomeWorks, Crestron, Ketra, and Colorbeam. We are an Elite Pro Crestron Dealer. We coordinate with the lighting designer and the architect from day one and we handle ongoing scene tuning and seasonal adjustment as part of the service relationship.
Can you take over an existing system from another integrator?
Yes. We inherit systems regularly and bring them up to a documented, serviceable standard. We also act as the owner's rep, managing other integrators on the client's behalf for global or multi-site projects where the local market is better served by a local firm.
How long does a residential project take?
Single rooms, network refreshes, and lighting refits typically run four to twelve weeks. Full new-construction estate projects run twelve to twenty-four months and are coordinated alongside the architect, builder, electrician, and interior designer from schematic design through closeout.
How much does a luxury smart home system cost?
A single room with Crestron control and quality audio typically starts in the high five figures. Whole-home estates routinely run from the low six figures to seven figures depending on theater scope, lighting scale, shade count, and network complexity. We publish a cost guide and we will sit down to scope a real number before any contract is signed.
Do you carry service after the install?
Yes. Every Restrepo project includes a documented service relationship. Clients on a contract get a 24/7 direct line to a Restrepo on-call engineer. That is not a call center and not a third-party triage layer. The same team that built the system is the team that supports it.
Do you work with my architect, interior designer, and builder?
That is the only way we work on new construction. We sit at the design table from schematic through closeout. We provide drawings, electrical coordination sheets, structured wiring layouts, lighting cut sheets, and shade pockets the GC needs before the walls close.
What is your service area outside NJ, NY, and CT?
Our primary service area is NJ, NY, and CT. We also serve existing clients with second and third homes in Florida, Las Vegas, Montana, California, Cabo San Lucas, Portugal, Spain, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. The Restrepo Group peer network covers most of those markets directly.
What certifications does Restrepo actually hold?
Elite Pro Crestron Dealer. HTA Luxury Certified. OSHA Certified. Ubiquiti UISP and Pro Partner. We work with Lutron, Ketra, Sonance, Origin Acoustics, Savant, and Sonos as a design, install, and support integrator. We do not claim certifications we do not hold. That is the honest framing.
