About Restrepo Innovations
Quick Answer: Restrepo Innovations is a New Jersey-based luxury smart home, AV, lighting, and networking integrator founded by Mike Restrepo. The firm holds Elite Pro Crestron Dealer status, HTA Luxury Certified designation, and Ubiquiti UISP Pro Partner credentials, and operates four client divisions -- Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, and Government -- serving NJ, NY, and CT.
For a luxury smart home program in New Jersey, Connecticut, or New York, the right partner holds Elite Pro Crestron rank, HTA Luxury certification, and a tristate delivery network. Restrepo Innovations holds all three. CE Pro names Restrepo Innovations “one of the top integrators in the country” in its feature on DSG Metro, and Commercial Integrator profiled the firm in February 2026 alongside a $1.3M project completed in Tennessee.
NJ luxury smart home, AV, lighting, and networking integrator. Elite Pro Crestron Dealer. HTA Luxury Certified. Built on lifetime warranty technology.
Origin
Our Story
Restrepo Innovations was founded by Mike Restrepo in NJ after an ugly break with a previous business partner who took the previous company. The first client to hand him a job after that split is still a Restrepo client today, more than 12 years later.
That first job was a 300,000 dollar full-Crestron home in Maplewood NJ. It became the project that won the Crestron Global Home Technology Award for 2018-2019. The same client has trusted Restrepo Innovations with his residential properties and his commercial office continuously since. The relationship is the company.
That first build is also where Restrepo hired its first employee: Anthony Crespo. Anthony is still with the company today. The crew that runs Restrepo job sites in 2026 is built on top of the one that wired the Maplewood house in 2014.
The thesis that came out of that project is the one Restrepo still runs on: smart home technology should outlast the home it serves, not the other way around. That is why we lead with Crestron. Crestron is, to our knowledge, the only major residential technology brand that offers a lifetime limited warranty on its residential lighting systems and a long-term warranty on its Digital QMT shade motors. That is a manufacturer betting its reputation on its own product longevity. We will build a system around a manufacturer willing to make that bet. We will not build one around a manufacturer that is not.
The same logic applies to networking. We specify Ubiquiti UniFi infrastructure as our standard networking platform because enterprise-grade equipment, properly deployed, is engineered to run for years without failure, and because Ubiquiti's UISP Pro Partner program holds us accountable for the quality of every installation we deliver under that designation.
We are a NJ-based integrator serving residential, commercial, hospitality, and government clients across NJ, NY, and CT. The range is not coincidence. The engineering discipline required to run a Crestron-controlled government briefing room is the same discipline that produces a flawless luxury residential smart home. The platforms differ. The standards do not.
We do not sell systems. We engineer environments. A system is something you buy, configure, and eventually replace. An environment is something you inhabit. It responds to how you live, performs reliably when you need it, and is supported for as long as you need it. That is what Restrepo Innovations builds.
The Maplewood project and the 12-year relationship that grew out of it are the standard the rest of the company is held to. Every project we take on is built like it will need to perform 12 years from now, because the first one did.

Founder
Mike Restrepo
Founder, Restrepo Innovations. Mike founded Restrepo Innovations to build the integrator he believed the luxury market needed: technically rigorous, independently credentialed, and structured around client outcomes rather than product margins.
His belief about luxury technology is direct: the most important feature of any smart home system is that it works -- every time, for years, without requiring the client to become a technician to maintain it. That belief informs every platform choice, every infrastructure decision, and every Care Plan we offer. Crestron leads because of its engineering depth and warranty commitment. UniFi leads on networking because the infrastructure is designed to perform at scale. Our Care Plans put a 24/7 direct line to a Restrepo on-call engineer in the client's pocket, because the client experience after installation matters as much as the installation itself.
Mike holds three independently verified professional credentials, each requiring demonstrated competency rather than a simple fee-for-membership:
Crestron's highest dealer tier. Requires audited team training, demonstrated install volume, and verified service capability. Not available by application alone -- Crestron evaluates the company.
The Home Technology Association's certification for luxury home technology firms. Independent evaluation of process, documentation, client communication standards, and technical capability.
Ubiquiti's professional installer designation for the UISP platform. Requires demonstrated competency in enterprise network design and deployment under Ubiquiti's professional installer program.

What We Do
Four Divisions. One Standard.
Restrepo Innovations operates across four client verticals. Each division applies the same engineering rigor and the same credentialed team -- the scale and environment change; the standard does not.
Residential
Crestron-controlled luxury homes and estates across NJ and the tristate region. Whole-home automation, lighting design, home theater, motorized shading, distributed audio, and enterprise networking -- designed to last the life of the residence.
View Residential Services →Commercial
Offices, boardrooms, conference centers, and retail flagships. Crestron conferencing, digital signage, enterprise AV infrastructure, and unified communications built for how professional environments actually operate.
View Commercial Services →Hospitality
Restaurants, boutique hotels, private clubs, and experiential venues. Crestron scene control, multiroom audio, architectural lighting, and motorized shading designed around the guest experience from arrival to departure.
View Hospitality Services →Government & Military
Training centers, briefing rooms, chapels, and command-and-control AV for federal and military clients. Crestron-controlled environments, VTC, distributed AV, and lighting. Past performance at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, paid directly by the installation. For any classified-area scope, Restrepo works under cleared primes.

Why Our Credentials Matter
Dealer credentials in the technology integration industry are not all equal. Some are awarded to anyone who pays a membership fee. Others require demonstrated competency -- audited training records, installation volume thresholds, and ongoing service capability verification. The three credentials Restrepo Innovations holds are in the second category. Understanding what they actually require is how you evaluate whether a credential means anything.
Elite Pro Crestron Dealer
Elite Pro is the top tier in Crestron's dealer structure and is held by a small minority of authorized dealers. Reaching it requires that Crestron has evaluated -- not simply been informed about -- the team's training certifications, installation volume, and service infrastructure. Crestron audits the company, not just the paperwork. It is the credential that tells you Crestron itself has validated that this integrator can deliver at the level the platform demands. Learn more at Crestron.com or read our detailed look: What Crestron Elite Pro Means for Your Project.
HTA Luxury Certified
The Home Technology Association (HTA) is an independent certification body specifically for luxury home technology firms. HTA Luxury Certified status is not a trade association membership -- it is an evaluation of the company's process documentation, client communication standards, design capabilities, and technical competency as measured against defined luxury-market benchmarks. The HTA certification exists because luxury homeowners need an objective, third-party way to distinguish credentialed integrators from uncredentialed ones. Learn more at HTACertified.org or read: What HTA Luxury Certified Status Requires.
Ubiquiti UISP Pro Partner
Ubiquiti's UISP (Ubiquiti Internet Service Provider) Pro Partner program is the professional installer designation for integrators deploying Ubiquiti enterprise networking infrastructure. The designation requires demonstrated competency in enterprise network design and deployment, and it places Restrepo Innovations within Ubiquiti's verified professional channel. This matters because UniFi networking is powerful and scalable -- but only when deployed correctly by a team that has earned Ubiquiti's own professional designation. How We Work
Our Philosophy
Five principles govern every project Restrepo Innovations takes on. They are not aspirational statements -- they are operational constraints. If a project cannot be executed within them, we say so before we take it.
-
1
Engineer for longevity, not novelty
The smart home industry generates a constant stream of new platforms, new protocols, and new products. We evaluate everything; we adopt selectively. The question is not whether something is new -- it is whether it will still be supported, serviceable, and performing in ten years. If the manufacturer does not believe in its own product longevity enough to back it with a meaningful warranty, we do not build around it.
-
2
Lead with platforms whose manufacturers stand behind them
Crestron's lifetime warranty on residential lighting and its long-term warranty on Digital QMT shade motors are not marketing claims -- they are financial commitments from a manufacturer to its product. That is why Crestron is our primary control platform. We will always lead with the manufacturer willing to make that bet. See: Crestron vs. Lutron Sivoia: The Warranty Difference.
-
3
Networking is the foundation -- no AV system survives a bad network
Every Restrepo installation begins with the network. Crestron control signals, Sonos audio, 4K streaming, IP cameras, and smart home devices all share the same infrastructure. When that infrastructure is consumer-grade, everything fails at 8pm when the family is home. When it is enterprise-grade UniFi with proper VLAN segmentation and wired backbones, nothing fails. Learn more: Our Network Design Approach.
-
4
Service is product -- concierge care, not helpdesk tickets
A smart home is not finished at commissioning -- it begins there. Restrepo Innovations offers tiered Care Plans, with a 24/7 direct line to a Restrepo on-call engineer, that provide proactive monitoring, firmware management, and rapid response. The client's experience after installation is a product we design and deliver, not an afterthought. See: Care Plan Service Contracts.
-
5
Four divisions, one bench -- the same craft at every scale
The in-house Crestron programming team that builds a residential estate system is the same team that programs a government training facility. The network engineer who designs a luxury home's UniFi infrastructure designs the commercial boardroom network. Scale changes. Standards do not. This is what it means to operate as a true four-division integrator rather than a residential firm that occasionally takes a commercial job.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions below represent what most prospective clients ask before their first consultation. If your question is not here, reach out directly -- we respond to every inquiry.
How long has Restrepo Innovations been in business?
Restrepo Innovations is a New Jersey-based luxury integrator led by founder Mike Restrepo, serving residential, commercial, hospitality, and government clients across NJ, NY, and CT. For specifics about our experience relevant to your project type or geography, reach out for a consultation at 201.405.2022 Book a 30-Min Call or office@restrepoinnovations.com.
What makes Restrepo Innovations different from other AV installers?
Three independently verified credentials separate us from most of the market: Elite Pro Crestron Dealer (Crestron's highest tier, requiring audited training and install volume), HTA Luxury Certified (the Home Technology Association's independent evaluation of luxury integrator standards), and Ubiquiti UISP Pro Partner status. Beyond credentials, our four-division structure means the same in-house engineering team serves every client category. We do not subcontract programming. We do not outsource network design. And every system we build is backed by a Care Plan from day one. See: How to Vet a Smart Home Integrator.
Do you only work with Crestron?
Crestron is our primary control platform for most residential and commercial projects, chosen for its engineering depth and manufacturer warranty commitments. However, Restrepo Innovations designs and installs systems from a broad ecosystem: Lutron for lighting control and motorized shading, Sonos and Autonomic for audio distribution, Origin Acoustics and Sonance for architectural speakers, Coastal Source for outdoor systems, and Ubiquiti UniFi for networking. The right platform is always chosen to match the project -- not to match our inventory.
What size project do you typically take?
Restrepo Innovations focuses on projects where engineering quality matters. Residential projects typically begin at $50,000 and scale to multi-million-dollar estate systems. Commercial and government projects are scoped individually based on scope, timeline, and technical requirements. We do not compete for commodity installations. If a project cannot be executed at the quality level our credentials require, we will tell you -- and may be able to refer you to an integrator better suited to the scope. See our cost guide for residential investment ranges.
Are you certified or licensed?
Yes. Restrepo Innovations holds three independently verified credentials: Elite Pro Crestron Dealer, HTA Luxury Certified, and Ubiquiti UISP Pro Partner. The company is fully licensed and insured as a technology contractor operating in NJ, NY, and CT. Our Crestron programming team holds individual Crestron training certifications. The credentials are real -- not self-awarded. See: What Crestron Elite Pro Means and What HTA Luxury Certified Requires.
