Restrepo Innovations has formally established a dedicated Government division. The move formalizes work we have been doing in this space. and adds the structural resources, clearance pathways, and procurement capabilities that government clients require. This is not a pivot. It is a recognition that the government sector demands a different operational approach than luxury residential, and that approach deserves its own team and process.
What Government AV Integration Actually Requires
Government AV work operates under constraints that most residential integrators never encounter. Classified-area facilities require hardware that has been evaluated against specific security standards, and they require integrators who hold facility clearances. Restrepo Innovations does not hold cleared-prime defense IT environment, classified-area scope, FIPS, evaluated-product environment under cleared prime, EMI-shielded scope under cleared prime, or cleared-prime facility scope certification, and we do not claim to. For any project where the scope requires mission-environment ready equipment or facility-cleared personnel, we work under a cleared prime that carries those approvals. Our role on those projects is AV engineering, Crestron programming to Elite Pro standards, and field execution under the prime's security plan. That is the honest framing.
Classified-area construction follows Intelligence Community Directive 705 standards covering physical security, acoustic attenuation, RF shielding, and access control. AV integrators working in these environments coordinate with cleared general contractors and the prime's security officer, and they have to understand how their work intersects with the facility's security design. That coordination is the work we do under the prime. The compliance authority rests with the prime.
VA Medical Centers and Military Installations
Our Government division is currently active across two primary project types. VA medical center AV integrations involve public-facing conference systems, clinical communication infrastructure, wayfinding displays, and auditorium systems that serve both patients and staff. These projects require compliance with federal procurement standards, often involve GSA schedule contracting, and have commissioning requirements that go beyond what a private-sector installation demands.
Military installation work covers a broader scope: conference room systems, command center AV, and briefing room infrastructure. Each installation type has its own set of approvals, and working through that process requires familiarity with the relevant DoD instructions and the patience to handle a procurement cycle that does not move at the pace of a private contract. Past performance at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, paid directly by the installation, is what we cite.
“Government clients have the same expectation every serious client has: a system that works reliably, is built correctly the first time, and is documented thoroughly enough that someone can service it years later. The difference is the compliance layer on top.” __EMDASH_PROTECT_0__
Why the Formal Division Structure Matters
Running government work through the same operational structure as luxury residential creates friction. Procurement timelines are different. Prevailing wage requirements apply on federally funded projects. Documentation standards are more formal. Personnel requirements, including background check levels and facility clearances, apply to the team working on-site.
The Government division gives these projects a dedicated project management structure and team members whose primary focus is the coordination requirements that federal and military work demands. For any classified-area or classified-area scope scope, the procurement and compliance authority sits with the cleared prime we partner with on that project. We are not GSA-scheduled, and we do not pursue contract vehicles that require certifications we do not hold.
The Underlying Capability
What qualifies Restrepo Innovations for this work is the foundation that already exists: Elite Pro Crestron dealer status, which provides access to the government-grade product lines; deep programming expertise that translates across platforms; and a project management discipline built on HTA Luxury Certification standards. The compliance requirements are additive. The core competency. designing and installing complex AV systems correctly. is the same.
If your organization is planning AV infrastructure for a federal facility, we are equipped to handle the full scope from design through commissioning. Our services page outlines our full range of capabilities across all four divisions.
