Do I need a Crestron dealer for service?

Crestron service on a residential system requires a dealer with the correct software tools and, ideally, access to the original program files. Firmware updates, programming changes, and hardware swaps require Crestron Toolbox and a licensed programming environment. Clients whose original dealer is no longer available can have their system audited and taken over by a new certified dealer.

What this means for your project

We take over Crestron service agreements from prior dealers regularly in NJ and CT. The first step is pulling the program from the processor and documenting the current configuration. If the code is clean, we continue from it. If it is not documented or is unreliable, we recommend a rewrite. Most takeovers are completed within one to two site visits.
