  • Starting with hardware before the room is designed; even expensive gear cannot fix bad room geometry or bad sightlines.
  • Not involving the cinema designer early enough; once framing is underway, compromises are hard to avoid.

New York. Westchester, the Hamptons, and historic neighborhoods can trigger stricter design review, historic-district constraints, and tighter control of exterior penetrations for vents, shades, and satellite/antenna hardware. Greenwich and Fairfield County projects often involve large custom homes but also strict town-by-town permitting and, in some areas, conservation or coastal constraints that affect exterior equipment locations and mechanical routing.
