Bonding is not optional and it is not the electrician's problem alone. Every metallic component that the AV integrator installs in the pool zone is the AV integrator's responsibility to identify and include in the bonding schedule. This standard defines the component list and the tie-in requirements.
The most common bonding miss on a pool AV project is an underwater speaker bracket that is not on the bonding conductor. The bracket ships without a bonding lug. The installer does not add one. The pool passes inspection because the inspector is not checking AV hardware. This standard closes that gap.
