The CP4-R is the correct choice for any home with significant scale: large room counts, multiple zones, home theater, dedicated DM-NVX video distribution, or MDU applications. It supports BACnet natively (up to 2,000 objects), handles more speaker zones, and can be the parent processor in a multi-processor configuration. If a project starts with a CP4-R, the upgrade path is clean.

The MC4-R is designed for single-room systems, smaller homes, and MDU units. It has a built-in infiNET EX wireless gateway, which eliminates the need for a separate gateway device in wireless-heavy installs. The MC4-R V2 hardware (serial numbers above 2211JBH14341) is required for Philips Hue native driver support -- a detail that matters for renovation jobs where you are inheriting existing hardware.

On the audio side, the DM-NAX-8ZSA remains the primary distributed audio engine in our Home OS builds.
