Salto operates in what I would call a hybrid model. Salto’s SVN (Salto Virtual Network) offline architecture requires no server in many configurations. credentials are written to and updated via smart cards acting as data carriers across the system. The Salto KS cloud platform adds a subscription layer for cloud management, mobile credentials, and remote administration. You can start with Salto offline and add KS cloud features as the operational need develops.
