Field Notes

AI-capable home automation systems require more physical infrastructure than a standard AV rack. The processing hardware runs hotter, draws more power, and requires reliable high-bandwidth network connectivity. This standard defines the room requirements before the equipment is specified so the infrastructure is ready when hardware arrives.

The equipment room is where every system in the house connects. Getting the conduit layout, power distribution, and network topology right at rough-in means commissioning is a configuration task, not a problem-solving exercise. This standard is the reference for making that room right.
