Power is the foundation of every AV system, and it is the part most often delegated to the electrician without adequate specification. A circuit that is undersized, shared with a non-AV load, or routed without conduit back to the panel creates problems that are hard to fix after the walls are closed.
This standard is the document we give to the electrical contractor at the pre-construction meeting. It translates the AV system design into a power load schedule the electrician can work from. Getting this exchange right early is the difference between a clean rough-in and a series of change orders.
