Field Notes

Energy management is a systems problem, not a hardware problem. The monitoring equipment is only as useful as the infrastructure it sits on. This standard defines that infrastructure: the panel space, the CT positions, the communication conduit, and the integration data points.

We wrote this standard because the conversations about energy monitoring typically happen too late. By the time the homeowner asks about real-time usage data, the panels are closed and the conduit runs are buried. Getting the infrastructure right at rough-in costs far less than adding it after the fact.
